Raglan Golf Club

Get into the swing of Business House Golf this summer

Business House Golf will follow a new direction this year at Raglan Golf Club with the emphasis on attracting new players.
Fun-orientated rounds will be featured in business house and closer to Christmas the club’s traditional twilight competition will be held.
“We figured if people get involved in the business house competition and enjoy it, they might be keen enough to join the twilight after that,” said club president Peter Aim.
Four rounds of business house will commence on Thursday, October 11 and run for four consecutive weeks with tee-off from 5pm to 5.30pm each week.
“We have several businesses entered already and the format is they bring along three players who are teamed up with a golf club member to complete a four-member team,” the president said.
“That way they will have at least one golfer in the group who can stare the team in the right direction – at least that’s the plan,” he smiled.
“We want it to be fun for everyone and the four evenings will give newcomers a stress-free introduction to the game – well as stress-free as can be.
“There’ll be a definite social aspect to the competition with meat pack prizes each week and a raffle as well.”
Don’t book dinner for Thursday while the competition is on, a $10 entry fee per player will include a sausage sizzle.
Dates for business house: October 11 to November 1 inclusive.
Teams of four comprising three from the business plus one golf club member.
Round 1: Quick 6. Round 2: Quick 6. Round 3: Purple tees. Round 4: 9-hole Ambrose.
Give Tim Ryan (027 593 4676) a call if you want to enter a team or want to be part of a team (we’ll find a spot for you).
The annual twilight comp will run from November 8 to December 13 inclusive, all welcome. Once again call Tim to register.
A Christmas Twilight (9-hole Ambrose) will conclude the pre-Christmas Thursday twilight programme.
It will recommence on January 31 and run until March 14, 2019.
Business House will have another competition from March 21 to April 11 inclusive to make sure you haven’t forgotten what you learned before Christmas!!
“We will be approaching Raglan businesses to stir up some interest around business house,” Peter Aim said. “Otherwise if you wish to participate contact Tim.”
